Union County Sheriff’s Office Salvage Theft Examination
Cost of examination is $50.00. Customers will need to use the internet to apply for a VTE (vehicle theft examination) and make payment with the electronic system before contacting our office to schedule the exam. Contact Chief Deputy Steve Maitlen at the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 641-782-7717, Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to set up an examination.

Customers can print the form themselves and make the signature certifying the vehicle is under their liability to operate to an inspection site location and to its return to their residence.
